The other day at home watching the movie The Chronicles of Narnia with Sophie and I stayed with a phrase I remember a kid I was surprised to read the book. At the end of the first part of the novel Lucy and Edmund have a conversation about Aslan. It says Lucy: "Safe? Who said anything to be safe? Of course he is not sure, but he's good. "
is known that many elements in these novels are analogues of redemption and the Christian way and that CS Lewis created Aslan the lion in a surreal picture of Jesus. Aslan is a lion and a warrior How will you be safe? Obviously not. But also obviously, it's good. Not so with Jesus? He is good, but is also dangerous. Sometimes I get the impression that throughout history have tried to tame Jesus. We have romanticized and often we did see as a weak or weird.
Aslan always seemed like a good representation of Jesus. When he roars no one is left standing. When Christ comes into a life nothing is in place that was. Jesus is unpredictable and majestic at the same time humble and tender. Jesus is good but I do well to remember that nothing is certain not to be changed when it appears and that is also good. Following Jesus is dangerous. It arri esgado for meat, hard to be selfish and it becomes almost impossible when we try to put me first. Jesus was and is obviously good but many times Jesus was uncomfortable and it makes me remember when I'm feeling too confident or too scared because it means it's time to look over the lion of Judah.
